  • Avoid cold drinks, fermented foods and yeast as these can cause wind and destabilise the digestive system.
  • Try to have a warm massage and practice yoga in a warm room  this will increase circulation in the colder months.

Great apps with vegan/eco-conscious ideas.

1587234461-1 Nowadays we spend a lot of time on our phone, so we might as well do it productively. Here are some Apps that can help you become more eco-friendly and improve your health through diet and cosmetics.

Lots of us love buying clothes, shoes and accessories. A better way to do that which is more eco friendly is though online sites such as Etsy and eBay. Therefore we are up-cycling clothes which not only helps the environment but is also in fashion as retro. You can also sell your old items on Etsy and eBay, decluttering and saving you from thawing them out. A lot of the items on Etsy are also handmade, so look out for them, as they help the producer more directly with fair wage and tend to be more eco-friendly.

Most importantly you want your cosmetics to be natural, organic and containing no ‘nasties’.  This is so important as 70-80% of your skincare sink into the skin and are digested. Ontop of that is is amazing if products are eco-frienly, vegan and totally against animal testing.  An app to make sure your products are not causing harm to animals is Cruelty-free. This app tells you what brands are cruelty free helping you to find alternatives and not support animal cruelty. Douvall’s cosmetics follow these ideals so are great for your skin. For vegan make-up Haut Cosmetics app is great to buy your make-up.    Print

Your diet contributes to everything, your skin, hair, nails, and health. By improving your diet you can make miraculous changes. Your diet can help cure health problems and improve condition of skin, hair and nails. Therefore these apps can help with vegan and raw diets. Also remembering organic where possible, and no processed foods. The app Is It Vegan? can help you determine what is vegan and whats not. This is great for people who are starting out or just trying vegan. Ideas and recipes for raw vegan food can be found on the app Do Eat Raw also Irresistable Vegan Recipes.    shutterstock_678797471-RAW-NUTRITION   Two apps that are essential for determining whether you food and cosmetics are eco-friendly and bio-friendly are ICEA Check and Chemical maze. Chemical maze tells you exactly whats in your products. With these apps it should be easier to become more eco-friendly, raw vegan, cruelty free and most importantly better for your health.

some magazines that you can download on your phone to get even more information are Raw food Magazine (healthy solutions), vegan lifestyle Magazine and Vegan Living Magazine.
Thank you for reading our blog! I hope it helped and will inspire you.

Raw Vegan Apple Ravioli Recipe (Carol Brotman)

A simple healthy recipe that tastes great! Eaten as a healthy snack or a dessert.
Peeler and slicer (not necessary)           Blender           Dehydrator (Oven)
Apples         Pecans         Coconut oil         Cinnamon         Sweetener (Honey, Agave, Maple syrup)         Water
Peel apples and slice very thinly.   In a large bowl lay out a thin layer of apple slices.   Cover this layer with Coconut oil, Sweetener and Cinnamon.   Place another layer of apple slices on top and cover again with Coconut oil, Sweetener and Cinnamon.     Repeat this step again.    Place in a dehydrator (or oven if you don’t have a dehydrator) for 15 minutes while you make the filling.
Put 1 cup of pecans, Sweetener, Coconut oil and water(not too much unless it gets to dry) into a blender. Now stuff the apple slices with your filling, take one apple slice and put filling in the middle then place another apple slice on top and press it down slightly. You can add more cinnamon on top if you like. Then place back in the dehydrator for around two hours depending on how soft or crispy you like.  (when  using a cooker the timings will be at least half depending on the heat setting. Preferably you want it as low as possible to keep it as raw as possible.)                 005   A very easy and simple recipe! That tastes amazing and is so good for you. Even if your not keen on a cinnamon flavour you  will love it just use less cinnamon.

Raw Vegan Chocolate Brownie cake

This easy and delicious recipe  allows you to enjoy chocolate and not feel bad!

This is a really rich recipe but surprisingly it can be eaten by people who are trying to lose weight; just be careful not to eat too much.

One and a half cups of really raw cashews
One half cup carob powder or cocoa powder
One quarter cup walnuts
Three quarters of a cup of shredded coconut
One quarter cup olive oil
One tea spoon Celtic sea salt
Four  medjool dates
Half a cup of raisins, plump and juicy
One Hass avocado
One half cup sweetener of your choice
Pinch of vanilla bean or vanilla essence

Vitamix blender and Food Processor

  1. Place the one and a half cups of cashews in the Vita-mix and blend down to a powder with a pinch of vanilla bean (Vanilla essence)
  1. Chop the dates as fine as possible and place them in the food processor.
  1. Pour the powdered cashews into the food processor with the chopped dates and add a quarter cup of carob or cocoa powder, a quarter tea spoon of Celtic Sea Salt, two tablespoons of olive oil and two tablespoons of sweetener. Process until well blended.
  1. Add one quarter cup of shredded coconut, one quarter cup of raisins, and one quarter cup chopped walnuts. Stir just enough to blend in but do not chop too fine, we want to retain the texture of the shredded coconut and the raisins.
  1. Then take the mixture and divide it in half and shape it on a plate like a large brownie. This is going to be a double stack brownie.
  1. On the next layer we are going to make a carob chocolate avocado icing.
  1. Take the avocado and place it in the Vitamix with two tablespoons of olive oil, one eighth teaspoon Celtic sea salt, one quarter cup sweetener, one quarter cup carob or cocoa powder and blend to a cream-like texture and spread thickly on the first layer of the brownie.
  1. Then place another layer of brownie on top of the icing and now we are gong to create a coconut crumb icing for the very top layer.
  1. Place half a cup of shredded coconut in the food processor with a quarter cup of sweetener, two table spoons of olive oil, and one eighth teaspoon Celtic sea salt.
  1. Chop until well blended and then stir in the rest of the raisins and spread on top of the second stack of the brownie.
You can then serve with the raw ice cream recipe. This is a great meal for kids. I say meal because this is not empty calories; it is totally dense with high energy nutrients. You can vary the amount of each of the ingredients to suit your own personal taste. It is a great dessert to serve for non raw vegan guests also.
