Washing: Are you doing all you can when you wash your hair?
Try to avoid washing your hair everyday as it strips away the natural oils. When washing use a shampoo and conditioner that is as natural as possible, sulphate free and full of healthy ingredients for hair.

By shampooing your scalp and conditioning the ends you not only use less product but avoid stripping the ends and a buildup of product on the scalp.
Rinse off your conditioner with cooler water if possible as this will increase shine.Avoid brushing wet hair when you can. Allow hair to towel dry as much as possible first.
Treatments: Easy tips to keeping your thick locks healthy.
Massage your scalp regularly. Use a hair serum/oil on the ends of your hair everyday or every other day and leave in to tame frizz, increase shine, detangle and prevent split ends. Use your Douvalls argan or nettle oil by adding a few drops to your hands and brush through the ends of your hair with your fingers. You can also use your Douvalls conditioner.
Use a hair mask/treatment once or twice a week on the scalp to increase growth, thickness, silkiness and condition of hair. Add your mask/hair treatment and massage into the scalp to increase blood flow and growth of hair. You can also use your argan oil by adding drops to the scalp and massage in, leave for an hour or overnight.
Diet, supplements & extras: It's all about what goes in!
Keep up your protein intake, vitamins A, C, and E, zinc, iron, and omegas to improve hair health and growth. These include foods rich in protein and natural good fats such as hemp, avocado, nuts, seeds, tofu, greens, olive oil, fish/meat, fruit and nutritional yeast, a great vegan alternative.
Supplements full of biotin, vitamins C and B, zinc, iron and omegas will improve hair health along with skin and nails. Other hair specific supplements include Vivisacal and Nutrafol.

As an alternative you can use pin curls (pin your hair or use rollers) and let your hair dry naturally or with minimal heat. Allow your hair to towel dry as much as possible before brushing or adding heat.
Brush your hair regularly to spread the natural oils from the scalp to the ends. Avoid brushing wet hair if possible and use a wide tooth comb if you do. Use silk hairbands or fabric scrunchies to avoid pulling and breakage.
